4th Grade Postcard Exchange – Year 2025-2026

In Art Class, our fourth graders traveled Down Under and just wrapped up an amazing Postcard Exchange with fourth graders at Emmaus Christian School in Australia. It was such a blast! Students learned all about Australian lingo, famous landmarks, and some incredible animals native to Australia. Students then began sketching their postcards, drawing favorite places and things about our hometown – Elmwood Park/Chicago.

We paired each student with a buddy from Australia, and they exchanged postcards filled with drawings of their hometown, fun facts about their lives, and little pieces of their world. Watching them make connections across the globe was so special! Just this week our 4th grade received their package along with a kangaroo plush to keep as a mascot in the Art Room! The kids are begging to do another exchange yet our Australian friends are getting ready for summer break in a couple weeks (isn’t that wild!) but we will try in a few months!
