Service Clubs

PLEASE NOTE – Club meetings are subject to change. There are times during the school year in which clubs will be suspended temporarily due to changing COVID protocols.

Altar Servers

These students (boys and girls) are volunteers who are trained to assist the priest during the celebration of Sunday Masses in our parish. They are upper grade school students of both Saint Celestine School and the Religious Education program. As a part of this ministry, they carry the processional cross, candles, hold the sacred books for the Presider, and assist with the gifts at the offertory during the Mass.

Altar Servers are placed on a rotating schedule for the masses and are responsible to find a replacement if they cannot serve at their assigned time. It is an honor and a privilege to serve in this capacity, and we need responsible people to help us out.

If you are interested in joining this ministry, please call the Parish Pastoral Center at 708-453-2555.

Student Council

Our Student Council is comprised of four representatives from each of the following grade levels: 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th. In addition to the four representatives per grade from the upper grade levels, the Student Council also has a president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, and school spirit officer.

The purpose of the student service council is to give students an opportunity to develop leadership skills by organizing and carrying out school activities and service projects. In addition to planning events that contribute to school spirit and community welfare, the student service council shares the interests and concerns of the entire student community.

Teen Volunteers at Parish Loaves and Fishes

During the season of Lent, our Junior High students volunteer their time in the Parish Loaves and Fishes program helping to provide meals for the needy.
