Dear St. Celestine School Families,

This week’s Brown Envelope is bursting with good news and a few reminders. Our community is tremendously blessed.

Our Catholic Schools Week Mass and celebration of the school’s 90th anniversary this past Sunday was incredible. I’d like to offer a special thanks to Cardinal Cupich for celebrating with us. Thank you, Athletics, School Board, Scouts, and Parents Club, for your roles in the Mass and Open House. Thank you, alumni, for attending. Thanks to the staff and former staff for their hard work and participation. Above all, thank you, parents and students, for being part of this wonderful event!

As Catholic High schools begin their acceptances, we are just starting to hear about scholarships. Congratulations to Charlotte P. and Olesya S. for obtaining $52,000 over the next four years at Trinity High School. Please note that other scholarships and awards will be recognized over the next weeks.

Connecting with alumni over the last weekend gave me an opportunity to hear about many wonderful successes. For example, Madeline P. has been accepted to the University of Chicago after a very successful experience in high school. If you are an alumnus and want the school community to know your successes, please contact me at sklich@stcelestineschool.org. We are a large Celtic family, and celebrating each other is key to our community.

Now for the reminders... Registration is ongoing. If you have not registered, please do so as soon as possible. Presently, we have space in all of our classrooms, but rooms fill quickly, and we do not want anyone to be on a waiting list.

St. Celestine School is offering a referral discount for any current family that recommends a new family. The new family must register and attend for at least the first trimester of the 2026-2027 school year. The discount to the current family will be applied to the April 2027 tuition amount. Please see the paperwork in this week’s Brown Envelope for more details.

Lastly, if families drop off or pick up students on Wellington, please do not block the alley on the south side of Wellington. Neighbors need to access the driveway, and we want to be respectful of that need.

Lastly, please join me in bidding Jenn Lingle, a Kindergarten Aide in Mrs. Doyle’s room, a fond farewell. She is moving on to other things and we wish her all of God’s blessings in everything she does.

As always, you are in my prayers,

Sheila M. Klich - Principal

JANUARY 23, 2026

Dear St. Celestine School Families,

Due to the prediction of extreme cold and dangerous wind chills, St. Celestine School will have a Snow Day on Friday, January 23, 2026. Tomorrow will be a snow day rather than a remote learning day. All after school meetings and events are also canceled tomorrow.

We strongly encourage you to attend the Catholic Schools Week Mass on January 25 at 11:00 am and the Open House afterwards. St. Celestine School is celebrating its 90th anniversary and Cardinal Cupich will be celebrating the Mass.

The registration deadline of January 23 will be extended to Monday, January 26. The fee will be $100. After January 26, the fee for registration will increase to $125.

Please contact me at sklich@stcelestineschool.org if you have any questions. Thank you!

Sincerely,

Sheila M. Klich - Principal

JANUARY 21, 2026

Dear St. Celestine School Families,

Registration for the 2026-2027 school year is ongoing. Please note that after January 23, 2026, the registration fee increases to $125. Please also note that there may be grades where space is limited and securing a spot now is advised. If families wish to have specific conversations about the 2026-2027 school year, please contact me at sklich@stcelestineschool.org.

Steps for applying for tuition assistance will be shared in the upcoming weeks. Please note that an additional means to save tuition money is through our Family Referral Program, where current families get a $300 reduction for the year if they refer an interested family that is not currently attending St. Celestine School. Please contact me at sklich@stcelestineschool.org, you have questions about this.
