Additional Information

The time commitment includes one Board meeting a month, additional monthly meetings as required depending on the committee you represent and service to the school and parish for various events such as Catholic Schools Week and possible community events.

Anyone interested in joining the St. Celestine School Board must be at least 18 years old and a parishioner for at least 1 year to be eligible for School Board membership. You must attend two School Board meetings in a row to be installed/voted on at the third meeting. If interested, please contact St. Celestine School Principal Sheila Klich, or any School Board member for an application.

The St. Celestine School Board appreciates your interest and looks forward to your input.

Community Outreach

For thousands of patients with leukemia or other blood diseases like aplastic anemia and sickle cell, a marrow transplant is their only hope. 14,000 patients per year need a transplant from someone outside their family. Help us save more lives.

You can help by joining the Be The Match (www.bethematch.org) marrow registry.

To participate:

  1. Be 18-44 years old and in good health.
  2. Make a commitment to help any patient with whom you might be a match.
  3. Use this link to join the registry: https://join.bethematch.org/STCELESTINE.

After you sign up online, all it takes is a simple cheek swab, which gives Be The Match a sample of your DNA. Once you are on the registry, you will be automatically included in searches to see if you are a match for thousands of patients in need of a life-saving transplant. It’s very important that you return the swab kit for you to be included in the registry.

For more information about marrow donation, contact Anna Michalczyk at (847) 260-2716 or amichalczyk@itxm.org.

St. Celestine Alumni

St. Celestine School loves its Alumni! We hope you know you are always part of the St. Celestine family and welcome at this school and parish. You are encouraged to visit, attend mass and have reunions whether they are big or small. We have a graduation class photo gallery in our school lobby.

Please update your address and personal information with the Alumni Database Form below. We only use this information to track alumni in our database for reunions and mailings from the school once in a while. We do not sell or give away this list.

Reunions and Tours

Reunions at St. Celestine are lots of fun and we love having our alumni back at the school to visit, take tours and celebrate together. If you would like a tour for 2-3 people or are from out of town and want to stop in and visit the school with 2-3 people you are welcome to call the school and schedule a tour with the school office. Call the School Office at 708-453-8234 or email the principal Sheila Klich at sklich@stcelestineschool.org.

If you would like to hold a larger reunion (an entire class or a multi-class reunion) at St. Celestine please call the parish office to reserve a date and room/facilities (annex, gym, lunchroom, etc.) at 708-453-2555. When you call say you would like to schedule a class reunion and they will put you in touch with the calendar scheduler.

Many reunions on Saturday evenings are natural to tie in 5:00 pm mass with a dinner party to follow or any mass on Sunday as well. You can visit the parish site to see all our current mass timesCLICK HERE. We are able to give you the space, tables and chairs, but the food, beverages and decorations are up to the reunion coordinators.

Once your date is set with church, you can call the school office at 708-453-8234 and let them know if you would like school tours available for your group. A staff or faculty member will have a key and be available to walk you through the school, otherwise the reunion is simply held in the Annex and Gym.

Some reunions have visited the school for large group tours only to start the evening, and then held the reunion offsite at a local restaurant after the tour. This is always an option we are happy to accommodate.

You can use the parish bulletin to list your reunion and try to reach people that are still in the neighborhood. Please visit the parish website for who to email and deadlines. Of course Facebook and other social media is a great way to keep in touch with and search for your classmates.

Give to St. Celestine Annual Fund

Join fellow alumni and extend your legacy by giving a gift to St. Celestine School. All gift amounts are very appreciated and make a huge impact on the students educational and environmental experience.

ANNUAL FUND – You can give to our Annual Fund any time during the year. Annual Fund Form or Give Online Now.

Annual Fund Online Contributions (GiveCentral)

OR

Annual Fund Printable Form (PDF)

Much of our annual fund goes to keeping our technology state-of-the-art. We need to keep hardware, software, licenses and the network current. We have 1:1 technology from preschool through 8th grade and for all the teachers, staff, and special rooms, so there are over 500 devices at any time that need to be monitored. CLICK HERE to see the technology that donors like you made possible for the students.

If you would like your gift to help the school in a specific way such as classrooms, teacher supplies, athletic or creative arts needs, you can make a designated gift to any of these areas as well.

Many reunions collect a group gift and then make one large donation to the school in honor of their class year.

PLANNED GIVING – All alumni as well as school families, parishioners and friends are welcome to include St. Celestine School in your will, estate plan and/or as a beneficiary on your stocks and life insurance. Let us know if you have designated us or if you have any questions or need our non-profit tax-exempt number – sklich@stcelestineschool.org.
